Traces of tiong bahru

In the streets of Tiong Bahru, we find interesting spots to capture memories and intimate moments.

One can’t deny the charm of neighbourhoods that bear legacy to Singapore’s past. Being the oldest housing estate in Singapore, Tiong Bahru holds a special place in the hearts of locals. Roam the streets and be drawn by the retro architecture style of the 1930s, known as Streamline Moderne, featuring clean lines, curved shapes, and motifs drawn from cars, planes, or ships. Dressed in a striking cheongsam gown that showcases a lady’s elegance, it would only be fitting to style a bouquet that complements the luxurious details in the bride’s gown. The Japanese ranunculus Charlotte Orange was the main focal beauty in this bouquet, bearing an oriental appeal and hints of deep red hues that pair well with the cheongsam. To accentuate the graceful drape of the gown, yellow oncidiums, also known as dancing-lady orchids, were styled into the mix to flow along with every movement, together with the lichen coloured silk ribbon that matches the embroidery.

Rachel had also brought along a straw hat for the casual shoot, and in a spur of the moment, we thought it would be interesting to pin the groom’s boutonniere onto the side of the hat as it coordinates with the yellow details on her summer dress, which she intentionally brought to match the flowers.

This styled shoot was made possible through the collaboration with these talented artists -
